The Orlando Magic (5-12, 8-8-1 ATS) will travel to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday night to take on the Indiana Pacers (9-6, 10-5 ATS) in Eastern Conference NBA action. Those teams faced off Saturday, with the Pacers holding on to a 114-113 home win in their first of four meetings during the season.

Magic moment

The Orlando Magic are not a good team as they rank 22nd in the NBA and have 109.9 points per game at 34.5 percent from beyond the arc. Head coach Jamahl Mosley spoke about Franz Wagner’s inability to lay up and Mo Bamba’s inability to initiate the rebound in their recent loss.

“I don’t think you could ask for a better look. He comes to the river. We had a chance for the offensive rebound. There was a lot of physicality going on down there. … You couldn’t ask for a better look to win the game, basically a layup on the edge.

Defensively, they are right on the league average with 112.9 points per game. They need to be able to keep playing hard as they’ve struggled with a number of injuries throughout the season and with a young squad it could also be a chance for some players to improve.

Pacers play well

The Indiana Pacers are off to a solid start this season and are playing incredibly well on the offensive side of the court as they are fifth in the NBA so far with 116.4 points per game. Point guard Tyrese Haliburton spoke about how this team has grown together over the course of the season.

β€œIt’s the first time we’ve been through this as a group, but it keeps happening when we’re on the track in tight games. You just have to find out along the way. We grow together as a group.”

Their defense still needs some beefing up as they remain 19th in the NBA this season with 114.9 points per game played. They struggle to defend the three as they allow 38.1 percent of the three against them to be knocked down.

According to DunksandThrees, the adjusted offensive rating shows a big difference as the Pacers are ranked ninth in the sport with a 113.8 rating to date, while the Magic are ranked 20th in the NBA with a 113.8 rating to date. The ability to knock down three-pointers is critical to success, as Indiana sits seventh in the NBA with a 37.6 three-point percentage, while Orlando is 19th from across the arc with a 34.5 percentage .place lies. All things considered, the Pacers should win here by at least seven points, having dominated much of their last game.

Prediction: Indiana Pacers -6.5

Overall selection for the entire game

These teams have demonstrated the ability to score basketball, as the Magic have averaged 109.6 points per game in their last five games, while the Pacers have averaged 115 points per game over the same period. Both teams foul and allow the opponent to shoot free throws as Indiana allows 26.5 free throw attempts while Orlando allows 22.6 drives to the charity strip. The over beat each other in 10 of their previous 12 games, so the over continues here as well.

Forecast: Over 226.5
