The Indiana Horticultural Conference and Expo returns in-person for vegetable and fruit growers

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana — The annual Indiana Horticultural Conference and Expo (IHC) returns to West Lafayette on January 23-24. Novice and experienced small and large vegetable and fruit growers are invited to join Purdue Agriculture specialists and trainers for two days of educational sessions and networking with other farmers and vendors from Indiana and the Midwest.

The educational sessions cover topics such as small fruit growing, apple growing, food safety, fresh vegetables, controlled organic farming and business marketing. Indiana cider makers will return in person to the traditional cider competition and a silent auction will be held to benefit the Fruit and Vegetable Extension and Research Fund. There will also be a trade show to meet suppliers of equipment, seeds, irrigation and more.

“After two years of Indiana Horticultural Conference virtual webinars, we look forward to meeting Indiana and Midwest fruit and vegetable growers in person,” said Stephen Meyers, IHC co-chair and assistant professor of weed science at the Purdue Department of Agriculture and Horticulture landscape architecture. “Events like this are a great way to connect and keep informed with the stakeholders and industries we serve. It also allows us to receive feedback on where future Purdue research and outreach will have the greatest impact.”

Certified private users of pesticides can attend recertification sessions for an additional fee. Participants require a private applicator license number to receive recertification credit.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at https://www.indianaortconference.org/sponsorship/.

Registration is possible online until January 16th. Participants can purchase a one-day registration for $50 or a two-day registration for $90. Lunch will be provided upon registration. On-site registration is not possible. The conference will be held at the Beck Agricultural Center, 4550 US 52, West Lafayette, Indiana.
