Nanny Wars: Part II

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh! I am so frustrated!!!! This feels like the last straw!!!! Baby goes to nana’s place twice a week.

I have to pack an outfit in her bag, and gather her medicine bag, sterilizing unit, breastmilk body cream, etc. Its alot to carry in the mornings, so I pack her bag the night before and put err’thang in the boot.

But EVERY time I pick her up, she’s not wearing the outfit I so diligently packed. Sigh. This one time, I packed jeans. “They’re too hot”, I was told. Once I packed an adorable white tutu, complete with leggings and a headband. “Oh no! White?! It’s gonna get dirty”.

And then last night, it felt abit nippy to me, so I packed in a long sleeve cotton dress with the choice of socks or stockings. Oh, and a cute little hair band. I arrive there and she’s wearing three quarter pants and a matching top (which nana bought for her). With a ponytail. Dololo headband! 😑

I was seething with rage. But I kept it hidden. “Ow! What happened to her outfit?”, I politely enquired. “Oh it was too hot! Luckily I had this one.” 😐 Now, I felt it was chilly today, I regretted not wearing a jersey.

It’s like she’s trying to show me up. Like I don’t know how to dress a busy baby and I should just leave it all in her capable hands. Aaaaaaaack!!!

So I politely reminded her to kindly pack baby’s clothes for next time and the times after that. That’s it. No explanation. No sob stories.

Confronting the elephant on the romper would just create unnecessary tension. So I will stew. And rage. Silently. Or on my blog. (Shhhhhhh, don’t tell nana) And neglect to pack baby’s bag. One less thing to worry about, right?
