Fortnite Tournament features eight former Ohio State soccer stars

This Sunday, NICKMERCS, streaming superstar and Michigan soccer fanatic, has teamed up with Columbus, eFuse and Epic Games to host one of the most exciting Fortnite tournaments in history and the first tournament to feature both current and former Ohio State soccer players and Michigan are participating in prizes up to $55,000.

“Gaming deserves a place in such grand rivalries,” said Matthew Benson, CEO of eFuse. “Alongside our partners Epic Games, we will make it big with a tournament featuring the biggest names in the rivalry, putting real money at stake and broadcasting it to millions of viewers. Our proprietary platform was built for such big moments and we can’t wait to see how the gaming community responds to it.”

“Football and gaming have long been synonymous,” said Zach Beebe, founder of NIL Management, a management and consulting agency that supports college football’s top stars. “The Rivalry Week Fortnite tournament celebrates the past, looks to the future and builds new traditions in gaming and modern entertainment. Our college customers are super excited and can’t wait for the fight. This series will go down in the history books!”

It chills me to think of this rivalry expanding to another arena, and my mouth dropped when Team Ohio State was announced. There will be 16 players on the list, eight former stars and eight current ones. To prepare you if you’re into something like this (and you should be), here are eight former Buckeye stars jumping to the batons to defend the great state of Ohio.

The tournament will be broadcast on Sunday, November 20th at 7pm ET on NICKMERCS’ MFAM Gauntlet Twitch channel: twitch.tv/mfamgauntlet.
